End of season Mario Kart race!

Here at White Chalets, we have had another AMAZING season.

Thanks to all our guests and staff namely, Scott, Jess, Kelly and Gosho for making every week of the season perfect. With powder from start to finnish and great times had by all, it’s been our favourite season so far!

We celebrated the end with a Mario Kart race (which Scott and I won by a mile.) This was down to our cunning and keen engineering skill with which we created AtomicHead, the fastest sledge in Bulgaria. It was a great day ending at the Tee Pee bar where we celebrated in style.

As the lifts pack away and the snow remains, we find ourselves here thinking…. what’s next?

Well, theres always the bike, the Landy, walking in the mountains, trekking to the snow line and enjoying the jumps, rails and awesome snow still up there! So if your in town, why not drop by for a beer in the garden followed by a trek into the mountains.

Amy and I have finally tied the knot!

After meeting in France 7 years ago in the ski resort of Tignes, and 6 happy years spent in Bansko, we have finally become Mr and Mrs Webb. We are both so happy to have found each other and are so lucky to have so much in common. We are looking forward to welcoming all of you to our chalets as a married couple!

Chalet Soltir Wine Cellar

We are proud to announce that new to Chalet Soltir for 2011/12 we will be offering our guests wine from our newly restored Wine Cellar.

We believe that the storing and ageing of wine is important. Our wine cellar allows us to store hundreds of bottles in ideal conditions. Here at ‘White Chalets’ we understand that wine is a living, breathing thing, therefore, care and attention must be given to insure proper storage conditions are maintained.

It is wildly agreed that temperature is the most important factor in storing wine. Wine ageing involves complex chemical reactions. These chemical reactions will occur faster if the temperature is too high, reactions that wouldn’t otherwise occur in cooler temperatures, causing wine to age rapidly. It is therefore vital to the ageing process to store wine at a constant temperature. Our cellar is from 8C to 12C all year round, in turn allowing our wine to age gracefully. Our humidity is also just right at approx 70% to ensure corks never dry out.

Overall, we will be storing many good Bulgarian wines for years to come for our guests to enjoy from the best possible sources. So please feel free to visit us any time, after all, it cant last forever!

Bansko downhill mountain bike competition.

Bansko MTB, ‘the road to know Where’: 3oth July – 31st July 2011

A great event which is now in its third year; the ‘Road To Know where’ Bansko mountain bike downhill competition is an extreme event open to all with BBQ’s and parties occurring through the weekend.

We are also looking forward to the new ‘Drag Mountain Bike North Shore Park’ Free to enter all year in Bansko Park near the square! It offers huge kickers and pump jumps with North Shore style elevated tracks through the trees!

50’s + Tailored Summer Weeks

Launching this summer 2011, we are glad to announce unlike most mountain holidays that we are tailoring our summer weeks and programmes to the over 50’s. Our weeks will consist of a hassle free program where you have the choice to be as adventurous as you like or simply relax in the garden. You may wish to soak in the hot tub or enjoy a stroll into the national park to take in the majesty of the mountains, the choice is yours!

We pick you up from the airport in Sofia were you can either enjoy a day in the capital taking in some museums or head straight to the Chalet. The following day can be spent on our tour of the icon museum and church in Bansko. A BBQ will be arranged for the following day in the mountains followed by a trip to Melnik monastery for local wine tasting and a look into the wine cellars buried deep under the Bulgarian mountains! Food is offered at the chalet every night along with breakfast all included in our price. Dobrinishte chair lift will whisk you up to the lake for lunch the following day taking in breathtaking views whilst you enjoy some local food and wine. Our week ends with a farewell meal with cocktails on the balcony at the chalet followed by our complimentary minibus back to the airport for your return flight.
